If you like the look of mid century classics but can’t quite fork over the money for a collector’s item, this table might do nicely. With its walnut veneer and leg detail, it hits the right note of authentic design without the up charge for an original that you would find in a dealer’s shop.
“The Fresno dining table creates a warm ambiance in any contemporary space. The Fresno is sleek and simple in design, providing an elegant setting for dining and entertaining with a touch of mid century charm. The frame of the Fresno is made of hardwood; top is made of MDF with an American walnut veneer.”

I like these little tables because they’re almost like the stark white displays in museums or art galleries. Here, it’s less about the table and more about what you’re putting on it.

A multi-functional piece of furniture is a must in small spaces, and something like this tray and stand is a no brainer since it would allow for serving when you need it and as a fixed side table by a sofa or bedside when you need a more permanent solution.
Stand available in two heights, 15.75″ and 21″.
Tray: lacquered metal in red, black, olive green or cream. Size: 20.5″

This desk combines the best of both worlds: it’s a regular table top desk, which doesn’t take up too much visual space, but it also comes with some floating drawers for just enough storage.

The Plateau coffee table is a multi-functional piece that can serve as a coffee table, a comfortable seat, or an ottoman on which to rest oneโs feet. For those wishing to sit low to the ground, the seat can even be removed and used as a stand-alone floor cushion. The rectilinear stainless steel legs and mitered joinery enhance the clean, pared-down lines of the piece.

This solid wood coffee table is ridiculously affordable considering the built in magazine storage solution. Smart.

Man, I wouldn’t call these affordable by any means, but they sure are worth taking a look at…
“The capital Baghdad, the new Babylon, a symbol of multiple, ethnic, cultural and religious identities, a sort of concentration of all humanity. The top of the New Baghdad table is made up of tens of different industrial aluminium profiles each one with a specific purpose, which together make up a map of the capital of Iraq, ploughed by river Tigris. The designer Ezri Tarazi’s idea behind the table is that each shape’s various identities are merged into a cohesive plan.”
Available in Small and Large (dining or coffee table height).

This acrylic I frame table is perfect for small spaces where dark wood would clutter a space, and would also be good in multiples for large spaces.

We’ve posted this before, but this is the first time I’ve seen it used as a record player stand with storage underneath for records.

This is a great extension dining table that has a mechanized self-storing leaf.
“The Parentesi Table (2002) by Luigi Ronzoni gracefully extends to seat up to 6-8 people without interrupting the design’s simple lines or resolved details. Both ends of the tabletop pull out on smooth-gliding metal tracks to make room for a self-storing butterfly extension leaf, which easily unfolds and locks into place. Like the remainder of the tabletop, the extension leaf features an apron on either side to hide interior tracks and maintain the table’s profile. Each table is produced using CAD software and CNC routers, for precision craftsmanship and performance. Made in Italy.”

I love the spare and simple lines of this coffee table- it’s definitely mid century, though not in any overt way. The subtle design gives it the elegance to qualify as a classic.
“The art of this coffee table is its book-matched walnut veneer tabletop, organic shape and smooth 45-degree beveled edge…the table can be positioned with either the straight or asymmetrical side toward the seating area, providing a large surface area in a relatively narrow footprint.”
Baltic birch core; plain-slice book-matched walnut veneer; cold-rolled steel tube legs; black powder coat.

I’m still getting used to the price of this table, and the idea of being able to switch out the pattern of the legs.
“An amazingly versatile piece by Marcel Wanders, capable of matching any room imaginable! Its secret is in its thick, conical legs, made of clear, standard injection-moulded polycarbonate. Change the look of the design by simply inserting a pattern of your choice! Two sets of graphic inserts are available, designed by Marcel Wanders or Javier Mariscal… or choose the blank sheets of art paper and add your own personal touch to the design!”

I don’t know why I’m surprised that this coffee table is kind of affordable- I guess it just looks like it should cost more. Seems like a deal.
