A while ago, we had a reader who was on a desperate search for a table that expanded widthwise instead of lengthwise. It is somewhat of a design anomaly, and in all my searches I didn’t find anything close. But today, I found one. It’s too late for that dear reader, he has succumb to an inferior lenthwise expanding table. But for those of you still looking, don’t despair, your table has arrived.
Wenge-stained oak veneer; satin-finished steel base.

“It is constructed of solid hardwood and is available in a plethora of paint finishes and wood stains representing a wide spectrum of possibilities.”

Now this is a desk. It has a place for vertical files on the top and a large drawer in the center (24 x 36).
The desk is also made from bamboo and stainless steel.
“All bamboo used in modernlink furniture is farm harvested and sustainable. Comes in “Baked” or “Raw” finish. Raw is the color of bamboo unadorned, leaving the surface as it would be naturally. Baked is achieved by literally toasting raw bamboo at high temperatures browning the silica in the bamboo naturally.”

Quite a deal on a table, if you ask me. Since the two bases aren’t attached, there’s versatility in the type of top you choose as well as the amount of leg room you need. You can push them together and have a round glass top for a smaller fit. This also could be a nice desk…
