Only one post today as it’s a bank holiday here in the UK… and seeing that everyone has abandoned the city streets in favor of the green grasses of parks and holiday homes, it’s only appropriate that this picnic tote gets the favored spotlight. I recently came across these awesome bags at the Moma Design Store in New York, but for some reason they’re not available at their online store. Luckily you can buy them directly from the designer. Anyways, the La.Ga is a Tyvek bag available in various custom prints. Tyvek feels like paper but is waterproof, tear-resistant, and because it’s plastic, recycleable. The large size of the bag and colourful graphics certainly make a bold statement. Be sure to check out their store to see the other styles.

You probably recognize this text from all the plastic bags you’ve seen it on, right? Well, now you can thank yourself for shopping each and every time you use this reusable tote. For anyone that is die-hard enough to care, the design is copied exactly as the original (the last “s” is upside down).

MoMA Store’s new Destination Portugal collection has a quite a few gems, one of which is this tote made from recycled Portuguese milk cartons. (The silver finish comes from the milk containers’ interiors, just in case you were wondering.)

Add another reusable tote to your must-have list: this lightweight bag is made from a single sheet of #2 plastic and, just like the Ty Shower Curtain, you can write/draw on it as you wish. So, make notes, keep a travel log, or just keep it plain white (as I plan to do, at least at first). It’s machine washable and can be recycled when it has worn out.

Two are better than one… at least in this case. There’s a ton of totes available these days, but this is the first I’ve seen doubled up so that you can organize your items. The canvas ‘bridge’ that conects the two totes can be used to hold jackets or yoga mats or whatever other larger items you have. I’d say it might be an easy DIY project as well, if you’ve got two of the same sized totes and an aversion to buying more. If you’d rather just plonk down the cash for this one, it’s available in natural, black, and orange.

So. This is looks like a great tote bag for a great price. There were some concerns when it first was revealed wondering about the leather version, if it would split or not, as well as how the bag seems to be suitable for only larger items as smaller things would slip out. And, interestingly enough, someone pointed to a similar bag idea that they received at a 7-eleven in Taiwan. Regardless, tote bags are all the rage nowadays, and this one looks pretty handy. If anyone has any personal ‘I’ve used this bag’ comments, please share. Currently it looks like the leather version is not yet available for sale online.
