Puma Glow Rider

Surely this isn’t the first time someone has thought of a glow-in-the-dark bike, but it’s the first I’ve seen. Word is that Puma’s Glow Rider will be available April ’08.

“The night glow effect paint used on the steel frame of the bike collects the sunrays during the day, and gives this light off when darkness has fallen, in the form of a beautiful glow, lasting for several hours….Additional features of the bike are its characteristic chunky tires, and a quick, easy and smart semi-folding mechanism, for maximum convenience. This easy-folding design makes the bike a perfect travel companion and allows commuters easy access in and out of public transport, cars or elevators. This unique element provides all the benefits of a folding bike, without compromising on style…”

Hokey Spokes

Hokey Spokes! Do you remember? It’s the new version! They’ll keep you safe at night (if you’re riding a bike, that is), and, most importantly, it’ll make you insanely happy every time you see them.

“Hokey Spokes are unique bicycle safety lights that allow riders to display computer-generated images and text inside the spoke cages while riding at night. Not only are Hokey Spokes fun and interesting, but they also provide important side visibility, which is mostly unavailable in today’s standard bicycle lights.”

Blades are sold individually for $29.95
Red, green, yellow, orange, blue or rainbow lighted versions available (blue and rainbow are priced a bit higher)

Folding Bike

This will probably be the first and last time I ever order something from an “RV Specialty Store,” but I’ve been toying with the idea of buying a folding bike that I can ride a mile or two to work and then just fold up and stick under my desk. This bike is obviously on the low end of what you can buy, so I don’t expect to be able to use it in Le Tour de France any time soon, but it will get me from point A to point B and collapses in seconds.
