Raise your hand if you like using plastic bags to protect and organize your gear. If so, maybe you’re ready to upgrade from disposable food bags to the DriStore Bags. Ledr Tool Roll

How to keep your various pens, pencils, and tools organized while you’re on the go? Get a tool roll, of course. This one, available as a Kickstarter project, has spots for 9 items. Two slots are wider to accommodate larger tools, and the overall height of the taller version is 7.5″, so you’ll be able to carry longer things like knitting needles and/or screwdrivers.

Brushhanger

Are you always looking for a decent clothes brush when you travel? Check out the Brushanger from Tim Parsons. It’s an updated version of an original design from the 1930s. The hanger folds up to form a handle for the central brush, allowing you to brush off your coat/jacket efficiently. And, of course, that makes the Brushanger easier to pack away in your luggage as well.

Koinobori Travel Laundry Bag

You may scoff at this travel laundry bag, as it’s not the fanciest, nor the most efficient. However, when one is living out of a hotel room, as I am now, one tends to appreciate a brightly colored bag for less-than-fresh clothes that’s slim enough to fit snugly inside a shallow drawer or stuffed suitcase. It’s certainly more cheerful than a space bag, that I can tell you.

Ostrich Pillow Go

Remember the Ostrich Travel Pillow from Banana Things? Those same good folks are back with the Ostrich Pillow Go, which is a little more like your normal travel neck pillow, but better. Total neck support is possible thanks to the big, comfy headrest made of high-sensitivity memory foam. Hidden magnetic buttons ensure three different positions for all neck sizes. You may still get a few funny looks walking through the airport or train station, but you’ll have had a wonderful, restful journey, while all those other suckers will be complaining about neck pain. Note: there’s only 22 hours left to back the project over on Kickstarter.

Timeless Travel Planner

Do your travel plans need a little more organization? That’s just what this planner aims to provide, with pages to specifically map out where you’re going, track expenses, and plan your itinerary. The amount of detail is spot on, as it has places to note current exchange rates, as well as entertainment, accommodation and transportation costs. There’s also room to list your very important ‘To Do’s’ before you leave. Does this mean you’ll travel smarter? Probably, as it would be hard not to take advantage of such an easy system. And maybe, just maybe, getting all your info written down in such a manner will free you up to enjoy your journey more.

Ostrich Travel Pillow

You might need this Ostrich Travel Pillow. Actually, let me rephrase that. You NEED THIS TRAVEL PILLOW. Sure, it looks a little neck-bracey, but it’s going to change your life. Use it as a combined eye mask and head pillow during your commute or on a long journey, or, hell, even while you’re at your desk. Naps can improve mood, alertness and performance, after all. The super soft cover contains lots of silicone micro-beads that support your head, block light, and muffle sound. Perfect. Amazing. Life-changing. And I’m only half-way kidding about the last one.

Swivel Spork And Knife Set

Well, if the MoMA Store is carrying a Spork, then you know it’s an acceptable utensil to have in your everyday bag, camping backpack, or travel carry-on. Should you see anyone turn up their nose at your use of an orange, swiveling Spork and/or Knife, simply inform them that Wei Young designed the set in 2012 out of BPA-Free plastic and metal. Or just smirk in self-satisfaction at your preparedness: you have an eating utensil, after all, and it’s clean. Or flip them the bird, it’s up to you.

Kammok Thylacine

If you’ve ever been cold on a camping trip, you know the importance of an appropriate sleeping bag. You don’t want something too bulky or heavy to carry around all day, nor do you want to spend the night shivering and mentally kicking yourself that you didn’t bring a warmer option. Kammok’s Thylacine™ line is a great solution to this problem, as their bags offer a patent-pending Variable Warmth Technology™ (which translates into an ‘interchangeable baffle system’) and Customfit™ size adjustments (you can tighten areas to prevent cold spots). Watch the video below or visit Kammock’s Kickstarter page for more info.

Kuvert Bag

Do you see the interesting pattern on the back side of these pouches/bags? It creates a sort of elastic mesh that accommodates all sorts of odds and ends that you carry around for travel- cables, adapters, or even your passport and other important documents. I picked up the smaller size for the cable/adapter storage purpose from a retailer in Sweden, and, unfortunately, I can’t seem to find any stateside store that has them in stock. So, get used to the idea of extra shipping fees or start bugging your favorite retailer to order a few.

Isoline Travel Set

If you have half a grand to spare, then you’ll probably want to spend it on a travel pillow and blanket, because, hey, why not? In reality, if you are actually in the market for a travel set, you’ll definitely be able to find several that are in the two digit price range, but I’d wager you’ll not find many that have such a pleasing geometric pattern. There’s also a pocket inside the blanket for your phone or eye mask- clearly that warrants the extra few hundred, right? Perhaps add it to your list of things to buy when you get your next raise/promotion/winning lottery ticket.

The Scrubba™ Wash Bag

So smart! If you travel often, you know how difficult it can be to pack light and keep your clothes clean, but, now, thanks to this wash bag, you’ll be able to do your laundry quick as can be. Add water and a little detergent to the Scrubba bag with your dirty clothes, close the bag, and ‘scrub’ the bag back and forth. Hundreds of small nodules on the inside of the wash bag efficiently clean your clothes in just a few minutes. The Scrubba folds to pocket-size and weighs less than 180 kg (0.4 lb). Video below with demonstration.

Portable Body Scale

If you hadn’t seen the title, would you have guessed what this was? At first glance, it sort of looks like a new tablet device, or very huge smart phone. Or a pice of plastic that reads your weight by scanning your irises. All those exciting things are unfortunately incorrect, as it is a portable body scale. However, if you’re a tad fanatical about losing some of those pounds, you will be excited, because now you can weigh yourself wherever you want. Have a small bathroom? It’s only 8.27″ x 4.33″, so it’ll fit. Weigh yourself (or your suitcase) when traveling, or pull it out of your bag while you’re waiting in line at the fast food joint.
