description: This wonderful collection of furniture and accessories made its debut at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York this past May and received wonderful press and critical acclaim. Lolah is a year-old division of a 60-year old luxury yacht outfitter based in Canada.

Featured here is the Braille Tile series; language and design come together in this collection of 28 tiles reflecting the 26 characters of the Braille alphabet, as well as a blank tile and the Braille symbol for #. Each Braille Tile is composed of a cast polymer with a matte white gel-coat resin. Includes indentation on the back allowing these to hang with ease or, these can be glued to a surface for permanent installation.

I love the subtle moodiness of the vapor wallpaper.

Astek Wallcoverings is a company that has been serving the television and film industry since 1985. They will work with you to create a custom design from sketches or photos. In addition, they have several finishes and murals to choose from.

The Wallpaper Peep Show, from the endlessly clever design house Droog, is white wallpaper with cut outs to give little glimses of the previous wall decor.

I love it when designers go out on their own with a handful of products and sell them online. This husband and wife team were unsatisfied with the selection of textiles and wall coverings available and decided to do just that. They hand screen the wallpaper and also do custom colors.

The caveat: In design school, estimating wall paper was my least favorite task. It involves fairly complicated formulas depending on the repeat of the pattern and number of windows you have in your room, double roll/triple roll…Then there’s the installation. And if you don’t purchase the rolls from the same dye-lot, the colors can vary slightly and ruin the entire effect. It’s not a nice process. Anyway, this is not a great DIY project unless you really know what you’re doing. It’s best to find a professional and they can end up saving you money in the long run. Especially if they get you a discount on the purchase.

So, maybe you’ve noticed that it’s hard to not come across some wallpaper pattern on all the sites nowadays. But- this one is of hammerhead sharks, so that makes it slightly more interesting. Whether you color them in or not is completely up to you…
