This vase allows you to switch out the top for specific arrangements. Have a bigger bouquet? Use the wider mouth. Have a single stem? Use the tiny one. Three options with one base, and that means less to store in the cupboards. The tops clip on with a tight seal similar to canning jars. Designed by Arjan van Raadshooven and Anieke Branderhorst. Available in Pure White porcelain. The vase base...Read more
Wörther Shorty Lead Holder
Written by Simon on February 23, 2012. Permalink
This was a favorite find of mine during a recent visit to Hand Eye Supply. I swear by my trusty Staedler lead holder for fine lines and controlled precision, but I can't help but want to buy this Wörther Shorty for just the opposite reason; fast sketching and writing with big, fat strokes, compliments of its hefty 3mm soft lead. Available in plastic, natural aluminum, and maple. Prices range from...Read more
Personal Library Kit

$10 is well worth keeping track of all the comings and goings of your personal library... especially since certain friends need help remembering to return books that you thoughtfully lent them, and, well, sometimes it's easy to forget who you lent them to. Usually this kit is priced at $15, so you'll save just a little until it sells out. Personal Library Kit includes: - Date Stamp - Ink Pad...Read more

Ribbon Tea-Kin
Written by Katie on February 21, 2012. Permalink
Have you heard of a 'tea-kin' or 'teakin'? It's sized between a napkin and tea towel, so you can use them for small spills in the kitchen or big mouths at the table. This ribbon design is especially eye-catching, as is the Antler (shown below) and both are also available in a cushion cover. Shown above: Ribbon Tea-Kin, $36.00 50×60cm Designed by pony rider ($36.00 AUD). Antler Tea-kin, $36.00 Antler...Read more
President Block Set

Seeing that it's President's Day, it's only appropriate to share these patriotic beveled blocks. They feature the faces of forty-four U.S. Presidents, and with an oval office cube, together they form an American flag on one side. It should be noted that these shouldn't be just for kids, as there are few adults that could name all forty-four U.S. presidents. "Each cube presents a face, name, nickname, lifespan, party affiliation,...Read more
Hmm, what do we have here? It's a tea sieve that doubles as a stirrer once your tea is brewed. While this does seem handy as it negates the need for a spoon, one wonders how difficult it might be to clean. (If you decide to purchase it, please share.) "Fill the sieve with your favorite loose leaf tea, brew and then push down to close the vents." Designer: Carl...Read more

The stool (pictured below) has an interchangeable seat top (wood/cushion top) and is priced at $295. The bench features no hardware, instead acrylic rods secure the legs, and can be stacked to create shelving. Contact 2nd...Read more

Trine Bench-Valet
Written by Katie on February 17, 2012. Permalink
Update: Does 50% off sweeten the deal? This is on sale for $149 from $299 (I'm assuming until quantities last). The whole bench/valet idea has seen a few iterations in the last few years, but this version is perhaps the most affordable. A solid ash frame and white lacquer gives a light look while the vertical post provides a spot for hats, bags, jackets or clothes. Might be perfect for...Read more
Fire Extinguisher Pendant Lamps
Written by Katie on February 16, 2012. Permalink
As you've ascertained from the title, these lamps are made from spent fire extinguisher canisters. By using either the top or bottom of the canister the shape is cylindrical or rounded, and each one is hand painted with a slight black/grey effect. Not a bad way to make use of an otherwise discarded item, and it certainly lends itself to a nice 'guess what this used to be' discussion at...Read more
