An antique and decorative tribal textile made in Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and other Central Asian countries, suzani-or needlework-is synonymous with that region’s glorious embroideries. Traditionally used as wall hangings and prayer mats, they were a treasured addition to a bride’s dowry.
