Kammock

Have you heard of the Kammok? It’s a light weight camping hammock made from a nylon fabric called LunarWave™. It’s soft, strong, breathable and can easily pack away into a small bag for easy transport. Currently a Kickstarter project, you can donate whatever sum you desire, but if you’re hoping to receive an actual Kammock, expect to donate $85 or more. Check it out at Kickstarter.

    Original Tree Swing

Perhaps some of our derrières might not quite fit on this tree swing, yet it’s worth reminding that it doesn’t take much to make something similar. Should you not wish to toil away making a wooden disk, this reclaimed elm seat is kiln-dried and finished with mineral oil.

    Moustache Clips

Whether you’re tired of them or not, moustaches are here to stay. It was only a matter of time before they appeared in the form of a clip; now your reports and paperwork can have that jaunty air that only a proper moustache can bring. Silly? Yes. Sort of fun? Definitely.

    Bürowolfgang Bag

If you tote around your vinyl records occasionally, you’ll be pleased to know that this bag is big enough for that plus a front pocket for a laptop or tablet. Music producer Paul-David Rollmann collaborated with designer Patrick Koenig on the Bürowolfgang Bag, so rest assured your records will be transported appropriately to the specifications of a pro. Available in blue or black leather. (If you don’t tote around records, just think of the larger sketchbooks/magazines/newspapers that would easily fit instead.)

    Studiopatró Tea Towels

Over at design/story there’s a few Studiopatró Tea Towels that caught my eye- that’s not surprising as they’re handpicked by Remodelista blogger Julie Carlson. You can also buy directly from Studiopatró if you so wish.

    Perimeter Floor Lamp

With a ship date of October 2011, you’ve got a little time to think about this floor lamp. Thin loops of powder-coated steel create the base and while it measures 18″ wide, it has a rather airy appearance. I love the blue and yellow (either color would pop out in a neutral space) yet the white might be a better choice if you prefer a more subtle look.

    SpiceCare Modular Spice Storage

This looks to be a smart storage option for spices. Each container is stackable, as you can see, but they also interlock so you can group together regularly used spices on the shelves or in a drawer. A stainless steel insert allows for labeling and there’s also shaker screen inserts should you need them. See video below for more info.

    Grove Office Center

This piece would be perfect for tucking away a home office. The size is big enough to hold a computer, accessories and files, yet it’s not too large… as in, it’s not a wooden behemoth crouched in the corner of your living room. There’s the mid century feel that most of us are fond of, and it’s handcrafted (domestically) of solid cherry wood, which means it’ll last long enough to pass down to your children/relatives.

    US Constitution

Can you name one right or freedom guaranteed by the first amendment? What about the second? Do you know what part of the government has the power to declare war? Answers below. Take the Full Civic Literacy Exam and find out how you score compared to the average citizen (and most local elected officials). If you fail, or even if you pass, think about adding this palm-sized version of the US Constitution to your mobile library. It includes the complete Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and every constitutional amendment to the present day.

    Bandana Dinnerware

Seeing as it’s the first day of the last month of summer, it’s worth reminding that you might as well take advantage of every moment outside if you’re experiencing nice weather*. There’s something about this bandana dinnerware that says ‘summer’ loud and clear. Sure, it’s got the red/white/blue theme, and a bandana design, but it’s also triple-weight melamine, which means durability.

    That Blows Hanky set

So, now that most of us have eschewed paper towels in favor of clever/artistic washable tea towels in the kitchen, is it time to convert back to cloth when it comes to our noses? Before paper tissue became de rigueur, everyone had a handkerchief for personal hygiene, and perhaps all we need to return to the old fashioned habit is a little encouragement from this set. I especially like the idea of giving this as a gift to someone going through a semi-tough time (Dear John letter = heartache, Insufficient funds statement = broke, etc.).

Set of 5 hankies: a bad report card, a pink slip, and insufficient funds statement, an actual war-time Dear John letter, and a parking citation.

    Seatbelt Wall Screen

Here’s something slightly different in the world of wall screens: this one is made from white/black seatbelts. There’s not a whole lot of info on it, nor does there need to be I suppose, other than the dimensions (38 1/2“W x 38 1/2“H x 3“D). (However, be smart and email any questions before purchasing.)

    Tablée Wooden Cutlery

Will this wooden cutlery break? Possibly, if you press down too hard. Do they look cool/interesting? No doubt. These look very similar to some wooden cutlery I posted back in ’09, yet unfortunately the price is quite a bit more. I’ve included a few more wooden cutlery options below at lower price points.
