HAY Quilts

More minimal/modern quits, and this time they’re from Tanja Vibe and Petra Olsson, the Danish-Swedish team known as All The Way To Paris. The quilts are cotton with polyester filling, and each one has graphic stripe patterns in softer primary colors. And, good news, they’re sized to fit a queen bed, so they can be your main coverlet/blanket for your bedroom, and not just a small throw size that you keep wishing was just a tiny bit bigger.

RestartMilano Lamps

I hesitate to use the word ‘dainty’ to describe these lamps from RestartMilano, mostly because it brings to mind doilies and frail flowers. With their sleek swivel arms and warm brass finish, these lamps are just the opposite, yet the thin silhouette allows for a light touch in any interior, allowing other elements to take center stage. And, as an update, the Short Wall Lamp is now on sale.

Balad Lamp from Fermob

Need some flexible outdoor lighting? The Balad Lamp from Fermob is just the right size to tote around. And, compared to some other portable, outdoor lights (like the Uma), it’s absolutely affordable. The aluminum handle has a button at its base that dims the light and turns the lamp on and off. As a bonus, the accompanying Small and Large Stand transform the hand-held Balad into a floor lamp for outdoor dining or seating areas.

Pour Over Coffee Dripper

Does pour over coffee taste better? That’s up for debate, but there’s certainly something relaxing about mastering a brewing technique that requires patience. This Pour Over Coffee Dripper by Tetsuya Otani is beautifully crafted, so you’ll enjoy the aesthetics of your preparation as well as the taste of the finished brew.

3D Puzzle Dinosaurs and Insects

I know you don’t need more clutter around your desktop, but these 3D puzzles are small, fun, and inexpensive. Maybe you could get a few to encourage coworkers little ones to use their brain skills for something other than staring at their phones? They’d be fun puzzles to keep out on shelves, or to disassemble for another day.

Standing Pens

A special, standing pen! It won’t walk away from the reception’s guestbook, because it’s a big pen with geometric heft, and can’t be tucked into a pants pocket easily (without an obvious bulge, that is). The tip is easily removable for refill with any ballpoint pen cartridge. Available in several colors and three different shapes.

Concrete Brain Bookends

Braaiiins!! Feel free to pretend you’re a zombie, and walk around disjointedly with your arms extended and your head cocked to the side whilst saying that, as it’s entirely appropriate. Just don’t bite into this particular brain, as the two hemispheres are made of concrete. Designer Bertrand Jayr brings these smart bookends to our bookshelves- they’re excellent pieces of heavy ‘gray matter’ to hold your books in place.

Concentric Wall Light

You can’t afford a commissioned Turrell light installation in your living room, but maybe you can afford a Concentric Wall Light from Marset. It’s still expensive, sure, but if you’re a big fan of glowing color, you’re going to like the options you get from the concentric design, especially in the dark.

Mellow Vases

If you opt to add one of the Concentric Wall Lights to your home, you may want to coordinate colors with one of Studio Hattern’s Mellow Vases. They look like they’re in the same family, don’t they? Color and light combine to give these acrylic vases a diffused glow. A blurred option is available on Studio Hattern’s site. So pretty.

Suga Wetsuits Yoga Mat

What happens to old, worn wetsuits? Well, they usually end up in landfills, but if they’re lucky, they end up becoming a Suga Yoga Mat. Suga recycles old wetsuits into a soft, cushiony, surface for your yoga practice. Eventually, when it’s time for retirement (the mat, not you), it can be recycled. And, for $20 more, Suga’s C2G Mat offers you a replacement when your mat wears out- for life.
