Sure, you have your reusable bags, but do they fold up as easy as this one? Simply pull the aluminum handle and the bag collapses neat and tidy to be stored away. I know it’s just the beginning of fall, but may I ask you to assess your sweater collection? And, if, by chance, you find a few holes or stains in your favorite woolen or cashmere item, do not despair, for there’s a relatively easy solution found in the Woolfiller kit by Heleen Klopper.

It’s easier to show the video (below) than to walk through the instructions, but, trust me, anyone can do this. And, yes, it might be a little quirkier look than you’re used to, but I’d encourage you to try it out on at least one piece of clothing, for you’ll save yourself the time and money of replacing the item completely. Keep in mind that the patches tend to stand out more when the colors are varied (as shown in the image above), but you can mix or match however you want. If you hadn’t seen the title, would you have guessed what this was? At first glance, it sort of looks like a new tablet device, or very huge smart phone. Do you really know how active you are? Do you know how many flights of stairs you take each day or how many calories you burn? If not, that’s where this little gadget comes into play. The Fitbit is a tracker that shows your real-time activity. Your full day’s steps, distance, calories burned, stairs climbed, all of it counted and logged, even your sleep (if you want).

It’s small enough to clip onto your waistband or slide into a pocket, and it syncs to the Fitbit website where you may further track your food intake and compare your activity with others. On a personal note, I bought a Fitbit a few weeks ago and it has been an excellent motivator to be more active, even if it’s just getting up from my desk more often to get cups of tea. Where once I might have conveniently ignored the fact that I had not exercised, now it’s unavoidable, especially as I have a significant other that keeps a healthy competition going as to who has climbed the most flights of stairs per day. “Be Seen, Be Safe” is the motto for San Francisco-based upstart company Halo. Their Halo Belt is a multipurpose light-up LED safety belt, providing high visibility for any night time activity. The red, green, or blue lights operate in two modes; solid and flashing. The battery life lasts up to 75 hours using standard CR2025 batteries. Halo blew their Kickstarter goal out of the water, but if you act quick you can still pre-order yours.
