Norma Gaytan of Belgium created the lines ring by taking two silver rings and joining them with silk thread. A simple implementation of basic materials in a new way.

Elevating the common plastic cocktail trinket to a new level, Bittersweets NY asks you to consider the sword necklace and/or earrings. (Not at the same time, obviously. Can you say “over-accessorized?”)

So, while perusing Puma’s site the other day, I ran across this jacket. I’m not one to specifically sport brands, but I’m kind of impressed by the whole Nuala Collection. We all know Puma has some good shoes, of course, but for all you ladies out there wanting some casual/cool/comfortable (and lots of yoga) wear, you might find just what you’re looking for. Maybe.
Details include stand-up collar, asymmetric button closure over a center zip front, elbow patches, and front hidden pocket in seam. A thin padding is added for warmth. There’s also a “sun motif” appliquรฉ on the back, which makes me a little nervous, but looking at all the other stuff, I can only assume it’s tastefully done.
Available in Evergreen (shown), Bark, or Cinder (black).

Mark my words, black is back. It went away for awhile, but it’s coming back for Fall. Especially for accessories. You know, the basics: shiny bracelets, big chunky necklaces, bulletproof rose pins, etc.
“The young New York artist/designer turns a delicate accent into a modern metaphor on love and safety. Made of black heavy-duty ballistic nylon, Wong’s “bulletproof” bloom is both a high-tech talisman for the tender-hearted and wry fashion statement.”

Lately, I’ve been enchanted by this cranberry/fuchsia color and it seems that almost everything I buy lately is this color. It’s like those birds that are attracted to shiny objects. I’m not proud of it, but I had to acknowledge this certain weakness I’m having for it lately.
It’s designed by Karim Rashid for Alessi, and the collection, in his words “is symbolic of technology, the cosmos, and the passage and cyclical nature of time”
Also available in brown, black, and silver-grey.
polyurethane case & strap, acrylic crystal and 3ATM water resistant.
It will be available in October but you can order today.

I am excited about the potential of soybean fibers used for clothing due to it’s minimal environmental impact. I’ve been reading about it for years but this is the first time I’ve heard of it in the consumer market. Hopefully there’s more to come.
This sweater is 85% soybean fiber and 15% cashmere. Via Treehugger.

I was torn as to whether to put this in the “Tech” category, because the process is somewhat “tech” but the result is decidedly low-tech.
If you’ve been looking for a free alternative to a PDA, you should give PocketMod a shot. It is a flash interface which allows you to organize your information in a way that would be most convenient for you.
“The PocketMod is a new way to keep yourself organized. Lets face it, PDA’s are too expensive and cumbersome, and organizers are bulky and hard to carry around. Nothing beats a folded up piece of paper. That is until now. With the PocketMod, you can carry around the days notes, keep them organized in any way you wish, then easily transfer the notes to your PDA, spreadsheet, or planer.
The PocketMod is a small book with guides on each page. These guides or templates, combined with a unique folding style, enable a normal piece of paper to become the ultimate note card. It is hard to describe just how incredibility useful the PocketMod is. It’s best that you just dive in and create one.”

The bright green insides is what grabbed hold of me: also, it’s waterproof due to it’s three layer nylon construction and has a detachable shoulder strap and interior pockets. (And, think of what that’s worth- a waterproof, flexible bag that gives you a nice surprise everytime you open it up.)
